Studio Fashion Shoot with Elaine Featuring Evelyn Jegz

September 5, 2026

Elaine reached out to me with a bit of a time crunch. She had an outfit from designer Evelyn Jegz that she wanted photographed and asked if I could help put together a studio session. We managed to make the timing work, got into the studio, and came away with a set of images I’m really pleased with.

The outfit immediately gave us a strong direction. The rich burnt-orange colour, structured shape, corset-style details, and wide-leg silhouette all photographed beautifully against a clean studio background. Rather than overcomplicating the setup, I wanted the clothing and Elaine’s presence to do most of the work.

We shot a good variety throughout the session, moving between full-length fashion images, tighter portraits, detail shots, and a few more relaxed poses using a simple studio cube. Adding the sunglasses partway through gave us another look without taking attention away from the clothing. Elaine also brought great energy to the shoot and was comfortable experimenting with posing, which gave us plenty of variety in a relatively short amount of time.

This is one of the things I enjoy about studio photography. With a simple background and controlled lighting, we can focus completely on the model, the styling, and the details of the piece being photographed. It gives us room to create polished images while still keeping the session relaxed and collaborative.

I especially enjoy working with models and designers who have unique pieces they want to showcase. Whether the goal is a model portfolio update, designer lookbook content, promotional photography, or simply creating something together, a studio session can be built around the clothing and the story behind it.

The outfit featured in this shoot was designed by Evelyn Jegz, whose work can be found at EvelynJegz.com.

A selection of images from the session is included below.
