Josh contacted me for another photo shoot this time in a fitness studio in Langford called WestShore Warehouse a terrific facility for his CrossFit inspired photo shoot. Taking photos of athletes and fitness models is quite different than traditional model photography. As the photographer I have to be equally observant of the environment, models facial expression and muscle display. The lighting is usually really harsh so that the muscles are more obvious. Josh was awesome and he had lots of example and inspirational photos to work with. I used my speedlights to help in a couple of shots but actually found the harsh lighting in the gym worked quite well. Josh is super inspiring in the shape that he keeps himself.
